Awash National Park

Cultural Tour to Ethiopia north from Addis Ababa, towards the Afar locale and the desert zone of Danakil, or to Dera Dawa and Harar, one could do more terrible than ceasing over in Awash, considering a visit to the Awash National Park. This is one of only a handful couple of spots in Ethiopia where we saw some bigger warm-blooded creatures, in numbers, in the middle of the acacia bushes and dry savanna. Gazelles, and particularly the wonderful Oryx, and Kudu and what I believe are Waterbuck are crossing our street, or rather, the recreation center tracks. A lot of flying creatures, also, obviously. The safari holds up inside the recreation center gives a decent perspective of the chasm of the Awash River, and a cascade – and crocodiles.

Awash National Park Tour likewise has the Buffet d'Auouche, the lodging worked beside the railroad station, and clearly dating from when the Addis Ababa-Djibouti line was opened. Obviously, here is the place Haile Salassie rested, and Charles de Gaulle, among others – likely in the same marvelous room, with private veranda and rocker, that we possessed for the night. This is one of those pearls, stuck in a past period, a bit rundown at this point, yet at the same time with all its sentiment from a period long gone.
